Hi, Lit Kids Club Families!

Together we’re ensuring our children are ready to be lifelong readers. Each school community will have a slightly different version of LitKidsClub, so your primary point of contact is the educator at your school running the program. But below is some basic info about how to engage and the incentives you and your children can redeem along the way.

Commitment

As a member of this first group of Lit Kids Club, you are part of a powerful group of families ensuring your children are excellent and excited readers. By joining this community, you are signing up to:

1.

BUILD A LITERACY ACTION PLAN

You’ll work with your teachers to get clear on your child’s learning strengths, needs, goals and name the most important actions you can do at home. You’ll revamp this at the beginning, middle, and end of the year.

2.

ATTEND PARENT WORKSHOPS

Your school will host workshops for LitKidsClub families to learn new activities and tips to support reading at home. (check in with your school for dates and info).

3.

TRY NEW ACTIVITIES AT HOME

Real progress for students comes through consistency. You’ll zero in on the most important activities that target your kid’s focus areas and build new habits.

Perks!

The ultimate reason we’re all doing this is to see big progress for our kiddos. Nothing is more powerful than seeing the lightbulbs go off as our kids gain new skills. But we also know that rewards can be a powerful motivator as we build new habits. So here are some of the perks that you can unlock across the year:

FOR FAMILIES

Three times a year, you are eligible to receive gift cards depending on your engagement at school.

  • Around October, January, and April you will build a literacy action plan (with updated data + prioritized actions you’ll do at home). Submitting these with your school’s teacher are worth $50 each time.

  • For every school-based, LitKidsClub workshop you attend, you will get an additional $25.

FOR STUDENTS

Our kids deserve to be celebrated for their hard work as well! At the end of the same cycles, we’ll host an experience for our young people. See the details below for what needs to be true to join each event.

* Your school will submit your attendance + reading plans at the end of each cycle, and you will receive info about redeeming your gift card.
